Patterns
Outsole and Insole Design
After I created the patterns for my shoe, I went to Mood fabric store to source my fabrics.
In order to speed up my workflow, I vacuum formed my last so I could make two shoes at the same time.
To create the outsole, I made a CAD file and 3D printed a mold for silicone casting.
After mixing silicone with white pigment, I put it inside a vacuum chamber to reduce air bubble.
After pouring the silicone, I let it cure for 24 hours before demold.
The silicone captures all the detail from the mold with ease.
